These Quiet Encounters are small glimpses of landscape inviting close viewing — the series title Lacuna Fragments describes a gap, absence, missing passage or interval in these artworks which are built from fragments of remembered landscape rather than complete descriptions

Fragments of sky, field, weather and light distilled into expressive layers of colour and brushwork. Each painting is a self-contained moment, yet together they form a larger visual journey through changing landscapes and atmospheres.

Each painting is just 5cm square, acrylic paint and mixed media, matt varnished and mounted on a flat matt black wooden panel 10cm high by 25 cm. Panels are designed to be hung flat on a wall using command strips o similar, or can be displayed on a shelf or a tiny easel
