Frequently asked questions.

What kind paint and materials do you use
I work mainly in water based mediums; acrylic paint, inks and pencils. I sometimes use soft pastel on the top pf the painting this is completely sealed and varnished for protectionI usually paint on thin (6mm) wooden panels, although some work is on paper or canvas, this is included in the painting description

Are your paintings framed?
It depends… Large works on wooden panels are finished so they can be hung unframed, this gives a modern contemporary look. Of course they can also be framed if you prefer.

Often I make and paint a custom frame for the painting, these are simple frames which don’t dominate the picture

Works on paper also vary, they may be just the work itself, or may be mounted and contained in a clear cellophane bag so you can choose your own frame, or they may be mounted and framed. I don’t frame using glass anymore, rather I use non reflective styrene. This is light and (almost) unbreakable so far easier to ship. In my opinion, the performance of the styrene for showing off the picture is better than glass.

Will my painting be ready to hang?
Yes, all paintings will come ready to hang.

Can I purchase your work with a payment plan?
Yes, that can be arranged. For work costing over £500 you can pay in instalments. Please send me a message and we can work out an arrangement that suits you. As soon as the final payment is made, your work will be shipped to you.

My favourite painting is already sold – how can I be sure to know about new work?
Sometimes if they are part of a series of work you might be able to find something similar to buy
